Strategi Kepala Sekolah Mengoptimalkan Partisipasi Orang Tua dalam Meningkatkan Kualitas Pembelajaran di Era Digital

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the principal’s strategies in optimizing parents’ participation to improve the quality of learning in the digital era at UPTD SD Negeri 04 Guguak VIII Koto. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, parents, school committee members, and students as informants. The findings revealed that parents’ participation had not been fully optimal due to time constraints, economic conditions, low digital literacy, and limited internet access in rural areas. The principal implemented several strategies, including open communication, the use of WhatsApp groups, involving parents in school activities, personal approaches, and strengthening collaboration between the school and families. These strategies positively impacted communication between the school and parents, parents’ concern for children’s learning development, and students’ learning motivation. Supporting factors included the principal’s commitment, teacher collaboration, and support from the school committee, while inhibiting factors included limited digital skills and unstable internet networks. Therefore, the principal’s strategies played an important role in building partnerships between schools and parents to support the improvement of learning quality in the digital era.
