Abstract

Avocado (Persea americana) is a well-known and widely consumed fruit with high economic value. The nutrients contained in avocado can contribute to meeting the body's daily nutritional needs. However, avocado development is often constrained by the quality of seedlings. This study aimed to determine the effects of cow manure and eco-enzyme on the growth and development of grafted avocado (Persea americana) seedlings. The study employed a factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was cow manure application (A), consisting of four levels: A0 = 0 kg/polybag, A1 = 0.5 kg/polybag, A2 = 1 kg/polybag, and A3 = 1.5 kg/polybag. The second factor was eco-enzyme application (M), consisting of four levels: M0 = 0 mL/L water/plot, M1 = 40 mL/L water/plot, M2 = 80 mL/L water/plot, and M3 = 120 mL/L water/plot. Thus, there were 16 treatment combinations with three replications. The observed parameters included scion height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, branch length, and survival percentage. The results showed that cow manure and eco-enzyme applications did not have a significant effect on any of the observed parameters. However, numerically, the tallest seedlings were obtained from treatment A3 (1.5 kg/polybag) and treatment M3 (120 mL/L water/plot).
