Abstract

Organic rice is a high-value agricultural commodity with market demand that continues to rise alongside the shift toward healthy lifestyles among the public. Tasikmalaya Regency has great potential in the development of organic rice, one of which is Pagerageung District which is the main center. However, organic rice farming in Pagerageung District shows a downward trend in production during 2022-2024. This study aims to analyze the level of technical, allocative, and economic efficiency in organic rice farming. This study uses a survey method with sampling techniques using census (saturated sampling) as many as 44 organic rice farmers with Inofice certification. Data analysis uses input-oriented Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with a Variable Return to Scale (VRS) assumptions. The production factors analyzed were land area, seeds, manure, liquid organic fertilizers, vegetable pesticides, and labor. The results of the study showed that the average value of technical efficiency was 0.965, which means that organic rice farming in Pagerageung District was not technically efficient. The average value of allocative efficiency is 0.740, which means that organic rice farming in Pagerageung District is not economically efficient, and the average value of economic efficiency, which is 0.722, means that organic rice farming in Pagerageung District is not economically efficient.
