Abstract

Bullying is a major public health issue that negatively affects adolescents’ physical, psychological, and social well-being, as well as their academic achievement. Bullying behavior is influenced by various interrelated factors, particularly family support, peer influence, and the school environment. However, empirical evidence regarding the relationship between these factors and bullying among adolescents in Kerinci Regency remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between family support, peer influence, and the school environment and the incidence of bullying among students at SMAN 5 Kerinci Regency in 2025. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive-analytic design and a cross-sectional study. The research was conducted on November 24, 2025, involving all 74 twelfth-grade students as the study population, with the total population sampling technique applied. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through univariate analysis using frequency distributions and bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test. The results showed that 79.7% of respondents had experienced bullying, 55.4% reported high family support, 58.1% experienced strong peer influence, and 62.2% perceived the school environment as highly conducive. Significant relationships were found between family support (p<0.003), peer influence (p<0.002), and the school environment (p=0.013) and the incidence of bullying. Therefore, schools and guidance and counseling teachers are expected to strengthen anti-bullying education programs to promote positive behavior and prevent bullying.
