Gambaran Saturasi Oksigen Perianestesi pada Pasien Perokok dengan General Anestesi Inhalasi di RSUD Dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata Purbalingga

Smoking habits can affect the respiratory system and oxygenation process due to exposure to harmful substances in cigarette smoke. This condition may influence oxygen saturation levels in patients undergoing inhalational general anesthesia during the perianesthetic period. This study aims to describe perianesthetic oxygen saturation in smoking patients undergoing inhalational general anesthesia at Dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata Regional Hospital, Purbalingga. This research used a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 44 respondents selected through consecutive sampling. Data were collected by observing oxygen saturation levels during the pre-anesthetic, intra-anesthetic, and post-anesthetic phases and analyzed descriptively using mean, minimum, maximum, and standard deviation values. The results showed that the mean oxygen saturation in the pre-anesthetic phase was 97.51%, 97.52%, and 96.44% in light, moderate, and heavy smokers, respectively. During the intra-anesthetic phase, the values were 98.46%, 98.42%, and 97.66%, while in the post-anesthetic phase they were 97.90%, 97.81%, and 97.11%. Overall, oxygen saturation remained within the normal range, although heavy smokers showed lower mean oxygen saturation levels compared with other smoking groups.
